Usability

Home (root box) dates cannot be changed on the timeline

The home (root) box dates are based on the dates of boxes in the hierarchy and cannot be changed. A tooltip with an explanation has been added. It is not possible to attempt to move the box.

Task scheduling warnings added to the Calendar module

Warning message containing an explanation appears when task dates cannot be changed.

Workload

Task workload distribution is the same when task is in multiple boxes

Old calculation:

Workload is distributed based on capacity. Capacity depends on resource and team allocation, which can vary across boxes. This could result in the workload distribution of a task being different across the boxes.

The change:

Workload distribution is the same across boxes.

OLD CALCULATION

Task in two boxes

Acorn Box

- task assigned to a person (Nola Ross)

- task assigned to a team (Acorn team)

- task assignee (Nola Ross) is a member of the Acorn team (50% allocation) → 4h of assignee capacity is dedicated to the team’s work.

- Workload distribution is front-loaded.

- BigPicture allocates max of 4h a day to a task (based on the assignee membership in a team)

Zebra box

- tasks details are the same in both boxes (assignee is Nola Ross, task assigned to the Acorn team)

- task Original estimate is the same in both boxes (10h)

- workload mode (front-loaded) is the same in both boxes

- The Acorn team is NOT in a Zebra box. Acorn team memberships, including allocation details, don’t affect the workload calculation in the Zebra box.

- Workload is distributed based on total assignee capacity (8h a day).
