The Periodic Met vs. Exceeded SLA Gadget

The Periodic Met vs. Exceeded SLA Chart Gadget displays SLA numbers as a bar chart based on status. The horizontal axis shows the dates within a period – it can be weekly or monthly.

This tutorial will walk you through the process of adding the Periodic Met vs. Exceeded SLA Gadget to your dashboard.

Add The Periodic Met vs Exceeded SLA Gadget

If you're a Jira admin, you can add this gadget directly to the system dashboard (Global dashboard) without creating a new dashboard. If you’re not a Jira admin, follow these steps:

  1. Open Jira Cloud and click the Dashboards drop-down menu.

  2. Select Create dashboard.

  3. A pop-up box will open, allowing you to customize the new dashboard to your preferences.

  4. Click the Add gadget button in the top right-hand corner or the Add a new gadget links in the columns.

  5. Search TTS - Periodic Met vs Exceeded SLA gadget in the pop-up box.

  6. Click Add Gadget.

  7. You will now be able to configure the gadget:

    1. Create a title for the gadget.

    2. Select a Filter (saved search) and an SLA to pick which issues to include in the gadget. You can leave this box blank to include all SLAs in your instance.

This gadget is limited to a maximum of 2,000 issues. If the filter used in the gadget has more than 2,000 issues, the bar will only display the very first 2,000 issues that the filter returns.

If you want to limit your issues on the basis of Created Date - Resolved Date, you can do this with the help of JQL in the Filter section. If you prefer to set a limit based on the SLA date, do so from the Days Previously field.

c. Select a Period to view the data as weekly or monthly.

d. For Days Previously, enter the number of days in the past from which you want to collect data.

e. If you want the gadget to refresh periodically, enter a Refresh period in minutes.

f. Click Save.

  1. Tada! The gadget will now appear on the dashboard.

To reiterate, this is the result of the command "Show me the issues in the last 7 days" and "Bring whose SLAs started no more than 30 days ago". You can customize all of these based on your preferences.

Gadgets & Reports

When you click on any of the bars in a gadget, you’ll be taken to the SLA Reports page. According to the gadget’s configuration, TTS will automatically create a filter, and you can click “Generate” to see the gadget’s components in the report form. Check out the example below:
