Create bulk users in Jira using Jira Command Line Interface (CLI)

This article explains how to create bulk users in Jira using Jira Command Line Interface (CLI).

Instructions

  1. Create a CSV file with required data filled into the columns userId, userEmail, userFullName, userPassword and group as shown in the following screenshot:

  2. Combine the actions runFromCsv and addUser to create bulk users in Jira.  This example works because the CSV file column names are the same as the parameter names for the addUser action.

--action runFromCsv --file "bulkUsers.csv" --common "--action addUser"

It is recommend to test this scenario in a test environment before implementing it in production.
