Unscheduled tasks

The Backlog panel holds unscheduled tasks, which are:

• Tasks without start and end dates defined

• Tasks with one date (start or end date defined)

• Tasks that are not assigned to any individual, team, or skill

Having those tasks available in the Backlog panel lets you easily assign them by moving a task from the backlog to swimlanes.

To see unscheduled tasks, open the sidebar on the right.

Available columns

The following columns are available in the “Unscheduled tasks” sidebar:

• Key

• Summary

• Start Date

• End Date

• Assignee

• Team

• Skills

• Original Estimate

Open

Search box

You can find tasks quickly with the search box functionality. The search box operates in two modes:

• Text search

• JQL search

Open

You can also filter the tasks by the following filters:

• No dates

• No assignee

• No team

• No skills

You can also choose more than one filter at the time.

Example:

Checking No team and No skill checkboxes shows:

• tasks without team and with assignee

• tasks without assignee and with team

• tasks without assignee and without team

Inline edit

You can quickly make changes (e.g., add dates, change an assignee, modify a summary) with inline editing.

Schedule tasks

To schedule tasks, you can:

Method 1:

1. Drag a task onto the grid.
   
   

2. Make changes if necessary.

3. To confirm, click Save.
   
   

Method 2:

Double-click and complete the missing dates.
