Overview

Notifications are essential for alerting content producers of workflow tasks, task and approval assignments, and other workflow-related events.

This tab allows a space administrator to customize the space-level notification settings. These apply to all workflows used in the space (when the workflow is applied in page mode or space mode).

The default settings are defined at the global level by a Confluence administrator. A space administrator can override them at the space level.

For a user to receive any notifications when assigned to a task, approval, or read confirmation, the user needs at least Pages - Add permission in the space.

Settings

For most use cases, the notifications should be set to Default. The default setting uses the global settings defined in Notifications - Global.

If you are using customised notifications, usually via the send-email macro in a workflow trigger, this would potentially cause duplicate emails for the same events. To avoid email overload, an option may be to disable the default notifications.

Task – Assignee

Should a task assignee receive notifications for all tasks they are assigned to?

Slack notification

Should a message be sent to an associated slack user using the Appfire Docs+ app integration?

Send custom Slack messages using the send-slack-user macro in a workflow trigger when Appfire Docs+ is installed and set up.

Disabled

Appfire Docs+ app must be installed to change this notification setting.

When enabled the workflow default notifications in the space are sent to associated Slack users using Appfire Docs+.
