Overview
Notifications are essential for alerting content producers of workflow tasks, task and approval assignments, and other workflow-related events.
This tab allows a space administrator to customize the space-level notification settings. These apply to all workflows used in the space (when the workflow is applied in either page mode or space mode).
A Confluence administrator defines the default settings at the global level, but a space administrator can override these at the space level.
For a user to receive any notifications when assigned to a task, an approval, or a read confirmation, the user needs at least the Pages - Add permission in the space.
Settings
For most use cases, the notifications should be set to Default. The default setting uses the global settings defined in Notifications - Global.
If you are using customized notifications, usually using the send-email macro in a workflow trigger, this potentially causes duplicate emails for the same events. To avoid email overload, you can consider making the default notifications inactive (Disable).
