How to configure an announcement in Markdown using Announcer for Jira

This article explains step by step instructions on how to configure an announcement in a Markdown format in Jira using the Announcer for Jira app.

Instructions

1. Log into your Jira instance as an administrator.
   
2. Navigate to Cog wheel  > Manage apps.
3. From the left sidebar, under the ANNOUNCER FOR JIRA section, select Announcements.
   
   
4. In the Announcer Configuration page,
   a. When you are creating an announcement for the first time, you see the Create one now button, clicking which you can create a new announcement.
   
   b. If you have any existing announcement(s), you see Add another notification button, clicking which you can create another announcement.
   
   
   1. Select the Mark Down option from the type of announcements.
   2. Enter your Markdown code into the Contents section as required.
   3. To configure additional settings to your announcement, click Show advanced options... For more details, refer to this page.
   4. Preview the announcement and Save.
