How to configure an announcement for a specific project role using Announcer for Jira
This article explains how to create an announcement for a specific project role along with specific project using the Announcer for Jira app.
Instructions
- Log in as an administrator into your Jira instance.
- Select Cog wheel ( > Manage apps.
- Select Announcements under the ANNOUNCER FOR JIRA section from the sidebar on the left.
- If you are creating an announcement for the first time, click Create one now button to create a new announcement.
If you have an existing announcement(s) and want to configure the announcement for a specific role, edit the respective announcement or click Add another notification. - In the Announcement editor window, enter the announcement details as required.
- To configure additional settings, click Show advanced options.... Refer to this guide for more information.
- Select the Filter for specific project(s) checkbox and select the required project in Target project(s). To select multiple projects, hold down the Shift key and select the relevant projects. The drop-down contains only those projects that the current user can browse or administer.
- Select the Filter for specific Project Role checkbox and select the required project role in Target project role(s). To select multiple roles, hold down the Shift key and select the relevant roles. The drop-down contains the project roles for the selected project only. Note that this checkbox is displayed only after you select a project in the Target project(s) option.
- Click Save to create the announcement.
The announcement is displayed when a user is logged in with the specified project role. For the given example, the announcement is displayed as:
