How to configure an announcement with HTML tags in Jira
This article explains step by step instructions on how to create a new announcement using HTML tags in the Announcer for Jira app.
Instructions
- Log in as a Jira Administrator.
- Select the Cog wheel > Manage apps.
- From the left sidebar, under the ANNOUNCER FOR JIRA section, click Announcements.
- When you are creating an announcement for the first time:
- You see the Create one now button to create a new announcement.
- If you have existing announcement(s), you see Add another notification button to create a new announcement.
- You see the Create one now button to create a new announcement.
- In the Announcement editor, enter the respective details.
- Select the HTML option from the type of announcements.
- Enter your HTML code into the Contents section as required.
- To configure additional settings to your announcement, click on Show advanced options.. For more details, see the Advanced options section here.
- Preview the announcement and Save.
- To setup advanced HTML tags and styles: From the left panel, select Configuration under the ANNOUNCER FOR JIRA section. By default, the tags supported are as shown in the below screenshot:
Add additional tags and/or attributes on the text box for styling your announcements. The announcement is displayed in Jira as soon as the targeted audience log in to the Jira instance.
