How to format a Jira announcement in plain text

This article explains step by step instructions on how to create a new announcement in plain text format by using the Announcer for Jira app.

Instructions

1. Log into your Jira instance as administrator.
   
2. Select the Cog wheel  > Manage apps.
3. From the left sidebar, under the ANNOUNCER FOR JIRA section, select Announcements.
     

   1. When you are creating an announcement for the first time, click Create one now to create a new announcement.

      
   2. If you have any existing announcement(s), click Add another notification.
      
      
4. In the Announcement editor, enter the respective details of your choice as shown below: 
   
   1. Select the Plain Text option from the type of announcements.
   2. Enter your announcement details into the Plain Text Contents as required. 
   3. To configure additional settings to your announcement, click on Show advanced options... For more details, refer to this page.
   4. Preview the announcement and Save.
      

                  

You see the announcement in Jira as soon as the targeted audience log into the Jira instance.
