How to create a new announcement

This article explains step by step instructions on how to create a new announcement by using the Announcer for Jira app.

Instructions

1. Log into the Jira instance with an admin user account.
   
2. Select the Cog wheel  > Manage apps.
3. Select the Announcer for Jira app.
4. Expand the app and click Get started to start using it.
5. From the left sidebar, under the ANNOUNCER FOR JIRA section, select Announcements.
6. When you are creating an announcement for the first time:
   1. You see the Create one now button to create a new announcement. Click this button to create one.
      
      
   2. If you have an existing announcement(s):
         You see the Add another notification button to create a new announcement. Click this to create a new announcement.
      
7. In the Announcement editor window, enter the respective details of your choice.
   
8. Click Show advanced options to see additional options. For more details, please verify the advanced edit options from this page.
9. Save the announcement.

The banner announcement is displayed in Jira as soon as the targeted users log into the Jira instance.
