How to upgrade the Announcer for Jira app from 3.5-7x to 3.5.1-7x

This article provides step-by-step instructions to upgrade the Announcer for Jira app from v3.5-7x to 3.5.1-7x.

Instructions

  1. Log in as an Administrator into your Jira instance.
  2. Select Cog wheel () > Manage apps.
  3. Expand Announcer for Jira app.
  4. Click on Uninstall to uninstall the app v3.5-7.x as shown below:

  5. Go to the app's Atlassian Market place site, → Versions. Right click on the Download button for 3.5.1-7x and select copy link address or copy the url from below:


    1. For Data Center : https://marketplace.atlassian.com/download/apps/1211928/version/30500000000121
2. For Server :  https://marketplace.atlassian.com/download/apps/1211928/version/30500000000120


  6. Go to Manage apps and Click on the Upload app, provide the link address in the From this URL as shown in the below screen and click on Upload app button:

  7. This uploads the Announcer for Jira app with version 3.5.1-7x.


  • The Announcer data remains after you reinstall the app. 
  • Test this in a staging environment before doing so in the Production environment.
