How to share calculated fields in reports with other users

How to share calculated fields in reports with other users

This article provides a temporary workaround to share the calculated fields from a specific report in the Reports & Timesheets for Jira app. For more information, refer to the Calculated Fields.

Instructions

Temporary workaround

Until the sharing functionality is implemented, users can employ the following workaround to make use of the calculated fields created by others.

  1. Share the complete report

    • The original creator of the report containing calculated fields shares the complete report with other users.

  2. Save a copy of the shared report

    • Users who receive the shared report can save a copy. When the copy of the report is saved, a copy of its calculated fields will be saved under My Area > My Calculated Fields with a description (Auto created on saving shared report).

  3. Use the copied calculated fields

    • While creating new reports, users can use the copied calculated fields available under the Calculated section.
