No data in Appfire-report gadget in Jira dashboard for certain users

 Problem

The report was published and secured with a password and later included in a Confluence gadget. When added to a Jira Dashboard, some users cannot see issues contained in it.

It is important to mention that the dashboard is shared with a group with access to a specific project A. Still, the gadget includes information from another project, the project is not accessible to this group.

 Solution

The issue was reproduced, and the explanation behind it is the following:

  1. The embedded report on Confluence, using the access code, shows all issues because it uses the publish URL, configured by the creator of the report who can see all its content.

  2. When a report is embedded on a dashboard on Jira, users access the report directly, but the content is affected by the permissions the user has to access it on Jira.
