Dependencies (Infobar)

About Infobar Dependencies

The Dependencies section displays a list of task dependencies present in a given box and groups them based on their respective dependency type, reflecting the settings configured on the dependency configuration page. You can collapse and expand each dependency group.

The Dependencies tab lists dependencies between two tasks, where:

  • Both tasks are in the scope of the current box.

  • One task is in the scope of the current box, and the other one is in the scope of another box (for example, a cross-project dependency). Such a dependency is indicated with a crossed-eye icon.

Search for tasks

The search bar allows you to find a specific task (or tasks) whose dependencies you want to inspect.

You can narrow down the search results to show only those dependencies of the selected tasks that have the ASAP mode enabled or disabled.

Focus on task

Use the Focus feature to focus the Gantt timeline on the source or a target task of a selected dependency. The app will adjust the timeline and highlight the source or a target task.

Only the tasks that belong to the scope of the current box can be focused.

Out-of-view dependencies

Out-of-view dependencies cannot be displayed on the Gant chart but are included on the dependency list if one of the dependent tasks is in the scope of the current box.

A source or target task is in the scope of another box

Only one task is visible on the Gantt chart, while the other one is in a different box. As a result, dependency cannot be visualized.

The out-of-view status is indicated by:

  • Crossed-eye icon in the Infobar.

  • Crossed-eye icon in the task details dialog box under the Inward or Outward dependencies.

  • Grayed out Focus on the source/ target option. A source or target task is in the scope of another box. As a result, it cannot be visualized on the Gantt timeline in the current box.

A source or target task is not visible because of active filters

Only one task is visible, while the other task is hidden because of active filters.  As a result, dependency cannot be visualized.

The out-of-view status is indicated by:

  • Crossed-eye icon in the Infobar.

  • Grayed out Focus on the source/ target option. A source or target task is in the scope of another box. As a result, it cannot be visualized on the Gantt timeline in the current box.
