Integrity Check for Jira and Power Admin show empty License key in Configuration Manager for JIRA v6.9.0
This article explains why the Integrity Check and Power Admin apps show unlicensed in Configuration Manager for Jira app version 6.9.0.
Note: with changes made in CMJ 6.10.0 the Jira plugin manage should no longer prompt the admin for licensing Integrity Check or Power Admin if CMJ is licensed.
Integrity Check and Power Admin are now paid apps since versions 6.9.0 and 2.0.0 respectively. They can be purchased as stand alone apps. On the other hand, with purchase or update of Configuration Manager for Jira to v6.9.0, Integrity Check and Power Admin are also included. In such case, Jira shows no licenses for these apps on the manage apps page.
Behavior
- After updating the Configuration Manager for Jira app to the latest version 6.9.0, the Atlassian’s Universal Plugin Manager (UPM) shows the app with a valid license as shown below:
- When the Configuration Manager for Jira app is updated to its latest version 6.9.0, the Power Admin automatically updates to its latest version 2.0.0 and Integrity Check updates to its latest version 6.9.0. The License key fields can be seen to be empty and the License details set to Unlicensed in the below screenshots. Also there is a blue button, Free trial, that seems to suggest to click and get a free trial license.
Explanation
- The interfaces on the above screenshots and the "Free trial" buttons are provided by Atlassian’s Universal Plugin Manager (UPM) in Jira and are not controlled by Appfire.
- Since after update of Configuration Manager for Jira, the apps Integrity Check and Power Admin do not have separate licenses installed, Jira shows this on the manage app page. This is the reason Appfire added a highlighted info text box explaining this on this page (this is a static text from the plugin descriptor). Their licensing is included with purchase of Configuration Manager for Jira commercial license now.
- As explained in the info text , if you have a CMJ license, you can just ignore the licensing prompts on the Integrity Check and Power Admin manage app pages.
- Even after the free trials expire, Integrity Check and Power Admin apps' functionality works perfectly if there is a valid license applied to the Configuration Manager for Jira app.
