TFS4JIRA Self-Hosted | Unable to view TFS checkins with PKIX Path validation failed error

SYMPTOMS:

  • Unable to view TFS check-ins, an error is shown when the plugin is opened.

  • The following error is shown when hitting the Test button from the TFS4JIRA app in the Jira instance.

 

There are a couple of reasons that TFS4JIRA returned this error:

  1. SSL certificate is invalid or expired.
    It is possible that the self-signed certificate of the Synchronizer is expired and cannot be recognized as valid. Hence, this error will be returned.

  2. Some proxies or firewalls block the connection between the Synchronizer or Jira Cloud instance.
    Please check for firewalls between the Synchronizer and the external Internet (Jira Cloud instance).
