Changing your installed Comala Document Management family app in your Cloud site

You can switch between different apps in the Comala Document Management family if your needs change

Overview

Due to a current limitation in Atlassian Confluence cloud, workflow history (document activity) is not retained when changing between different apps in the Comala Document Management family in Confluence cloud.

However, if a global or space-level setting applies in the new app in cloud, it generally keeps the same value as it had in the previous app

Document activity

In Cloud, only one app from the Comala Document Management family of app should be installed and enabled (otherwise you may experience errors such as multiple workflow byline breadcrumbs displayed on a page).

  • workflow events and activity (document activity) for each page are not retained when installing a different Comala Document Management app. The document activity cannot be exported or imported to the page and displayed with the newly installed app

  • if previous workflow document activity history is required for audit, it must be backed up before uninstalling the existing app and installing the new app

Custom workflows created in Comala Document Management are not available in Comala Document Control and Comala Document Approval.

Licensing

  • changing to a new product requires the purchase of a new license/subscription

  • a trial license can be generated from the Atlassian Marketplace.

App licenses are also not transferable from a different platform (when moving from server to cloud or server to data center for example)

If using a trial license/trail subscription period, in Manage Apps in global configuration, Atlassian require you to end a trial subscription for an app using the Unsubscribe app option and then choose Uninstall.
