This guide helps you fix the error The issue couldn't be created because the ‘Labels' field is missing from the project field configuration. when sending a message from the Chat for JSM’s chat widget.

Cause

The Labels field is not included in the project's screens, preventing chats from creating issues with labels.

Solution

Add the Labels field to the relevant screens in your project configuration.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Project settings for the project where you are facing the issue.

  2. Click Chat for JSM.

  3. Click General settings > Project’s field configuration.

  4. On the Field configurations page, select the project.

  5. Search for labels.

  6. Click on Screens.

  7. Search for the project with the project key, check the checkbox next to the related screens, and click Update.

After following these steps, creating issues through the Chat for JSM app should no longer encounter the Labels Field Missing error.
