How to fix "Account already exists" error

This guide addresses the error message This request is invalid. Please ensure that the request includes all necessary parameters and that the parameters are valid. (email: An account already exists for this email) encountered while saving Chat for JSM project settings.

Steps

  1. Navigate to https://admin.atlassian.com/.

  2. Select Products from the Jira top menu.

  3. From the left side panel, select the website.

  4. From the left side panel, select Portal-only customers.

  5. Search for Anonymous Chat User.

  6. Select the three-dot icon, and click Grant access.

Now you should be able to save your Chat for JSM Project settings without encountering the error.
