Overview
In Issue Links mode, the Issue Matrix panel will show only the issues linked to the current issue.
The configuration options are organized into the following groups:
Data
Display
Locations
Actions
Data
The Data configuration options let you control the content displayed in the matrix table.
Issue Links
In this section, you can specify which link type should be used to filter the shown issues. Only issues that are linked using the selected link types will be shown.
In addition to the link type, the direction of the link can be shown - you can pick between:
Inward
Outward
Both Inward and Outward
If no link types are chosen, all issues linked to the issue viewed will be shown.
Columns
Any of the available issue custom fields can be added to the list of columns that will be visualized in the Issue Matrix panel. The field value visualized will be the same as in the Issue Navigator.
Adding a progress bar
If you want to have a progress bar in your matrix, you can add the Σ Progress field as a column. If you don't see it in the field selector, you must enable time tracking for your Jira instance first. To do that, go to Settings > Issues > Time tracking and click the Activate button.
You can specify the Width of the columns you add to the Issue Matrix table. For details, see https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ILV/pages/198182504.
Since v. 2.8.0, you can also specify the Header of each column you add to the Issue Matrix table. If you want to have column headers adapted to your use cases, set the headers when you configure the Issue Matrix columns. When you choose a field from the list to be added as a column to the Issue Matrix table, the column header is set by default to the custom field's name. If you want to revert to the default header of a column, just delete the contents in the Header column of the configuration.
You can enable Inline Edit for the fields within each column. For details, see https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ILV/pages/198182354.
Link Descriptions
You can enable the Include Link Description Column option to include the link descriptions as a separate column in the Issue Matrix table.
Filter JQL (since v. 2.0.0)
Use this additional JQL to further filter the linked issues that will be shown in the Issue Matrix table. You can also use the Issue Matrix JQL Extension. This filter will be executed only over the set of issues that would normally be shown in the Issue Matrix panel - no additional issues will be shown. For example, if you have the JQL resolution = unresolved, the Issue Matrix panel will show only the unresolved issues linked to the current issue. If the JQL is invalid, it is ignored, and no additional filtering is applied.
Sort By (since v. 1.6)
This setting lets you control the sort order of the linked issues shown in the Issue Matrix table. The order of the issues can be ascending or descending based on the values of the selected field.
If you add multiple sort fields, the sorting will be done according to their priority.
The method used is the same used in Jira - Lucene, and only the sortable fields are present as choices.
Later, each user can change the sorting directly from the table. For details, see https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ILV/pages/197957270.
Display
The Display options let you control how the Issue Matrix table is visualized. In addition, you can hide the default Hide Issue Links panel to avoid showing the same linked issues twice.
Table Visualization
The options in this section are:
Show Table Headers: If enabled, this option will visualize the fields configured in the Column selection as table headers. Users will be able to sort the table by clicking the table headers. See https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ILV/pages/197957270.
Show Empty Table: If enabled, the Issue Matrix table will be shown even if there are no issues to be displayed. This allows adding a new link.
Issues
Since v.5.0, the Issue Matrix table includes pagination when viewed in Issue Detail View and Agile Boards for improved performance. You can choose the default page size of the Issue Matrix table. The page size must be a value between
1and1,000, and it is initially set to10.This setting automatically applies to all users. Later, each user can change this setting for their account directly from the table. For details, see https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ILV/pages/197957270.
Issue Matrix pagination is not available in the Issue Navigator, Issue Matrix preview, nested matrices, dashboards, Service Desk queue, and as a Confluence macro. In these locations, the Issue Matrix table displays all issues.
In earlier versions, this section lets you specify the number of initially visible issues in the Issue Matrix table. The remaining issues will be shown after clicking the Show more link. To remove the limit, either choose All or set the Selected entry to
0.
After upgrading to v. 5.0 or later, the current number of issues initially visible becomes the default page size of the Issue Matrix table.
Categories
This section lets you create JQL-based categories that use color-coded cells to highlight and prioritize specific issues in the matrix table. For details, see https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ILV/pages/198248015.
Jira Panels
The options in this section are:
Hide Sub-Tasks: If enabled, the default Sub-Tasks panel will be hidden on the Issue View screen.
Hide Issue Links: If enabled, the default Linked Issues panel will be hidden on the Issue View screen.
Hide Issues in Epic: If enabled, the default panel showing all stories linked to an issue of type Epic will be hidden on this Epic issue View screen.
Locations
You can configure the locations in Jira where you would like to show the Issue Matrix. Configure the visualization of the Issue Matrix in the Issue Navigator and Agile Boards.
Actions
With Issue Matrix, you can configure actions that create and link new issues with predefined project, issue type, and link type configurations. This feature is available for Issue Links mode only. For details, see Create and Link Actions.
