Editing Issue Matrix' General Settings

Issue Matrix has general settings which control how Issue Matrix fields are visualized in Jira.

A user needs to be part of a group that has Jira Administrator global permissions to access the Settings page.

To access and edit options on the General Settings page:

  1. Log in as a user with the Jira Administrator global permission.

  2. Choose Administration > Manage Apps. 

  3. Select the Issue Matrix Settings menu to open the General Settings page. 

Ignore Screen Configuration

This setting was introduced in Issue Matrix 1.14 for backward compatibility purposes. Prior to version 1.14, an Issue Matrix would be shown on the view issue screen even if not included on any screens - it was only necessary to create the appropriate custom field configuration (context) for a given issue type and project. With this approach, however, it was difficult to control which Issue Matrix fields are shown where and the order in which several fields are shown on the screen. Starting with version 1.14, Issue Matrix will honor the screen configuration when rendering fields - the behavior is consistent with any other field in Jira.

Since this change is not backward compatible, the Ignore Screen Configuration setting was introduced. When this setting is enabled, the old behavior will be preserved so existing customers can properly configure their screens before switching to the new behavior.

This setting will be enabled for all existing installations where there is at least one Issue Matrix field and disabled for new installations.
