Customize Column Width
On this page:
Overview
Issue Matrix for Jira allows you to customize the width of each column to achieve better overall visualization and alignment. You can specify the column width in pixels (“px”) or as a percentage of the table width (“%”). Examples: 200px, 25%.
Initially, when you choose a field from the list to show as a column in the Issue Matrix table, the column width is set to "Auto". "Auto" stands for automatic sizing and the column width, in this case, is automatically determined by the browser. If you want to set the width of a column back to Auto, delete the contents of the Width field.
Issue Matrix reserves a bit of space for a mandatory column at the left side of the table. This column will show checkmarks ( ) for any issues with a resolution (i.e., Done, Incomplete, Duplicate, etc.)
In Sub-Task Mode, you can also see descending numbers in this same column. It’s shared with the checkmarks and resolved sub-tasks will show both a number and a checkmark.
Specify Column Width
In the Columns section, choose a field from the list.
After the column is added, click on the width field and change the width from "Auto" to the desired value in pixels or percentages of the table.
Click on the "Update" button next to the width of the specific column to save the new value.
If you want to revert the column width back to Auto (automatic sizing), just delete the width value and click on the "Update" button.
Before and After Custom Column Width
In the example below, you can see how the sub-tasks and issue links in the Matrix table look like before and after you set the width of different columns.
After you specify the width of various columns the Issue Matrix table visualization and alignment significantly improves.
