Configuring Slack App

In order to set up integration of Chat for Jira Service Management with Slack, first you have to create an app in your Slack workspace. Follow these steps to set it up:

1. log in to your Slack workspace with appropriate credentials
2. go to https://api.slack.com/apps
3. Click the Create New App button, the fill in the app name and select the workspace to place it in:
   
4. You will be presented with this screen, where you need to set up:
   1. permissions
   2. event subscriptions 
   3. slash commands

In addition to the above settings, you may wanty to set up an icon for your app. This icon will be displayed whenever the app posts any message to Slack.
