How to create an announcement with hyperlink to a Slack channel using Announcer for Bitbucket Server app

This article explains how to create an announcement with a hyperlink to a Slack channel using the Announcer for Bitbucket Server app.

Instructions

1. Navigate to the required Slack channel, right click and click Copy Link from the menu.
   
   
2. Login as an Administrator in your Bitbucket instance and click Settings.
3. Click Announcements under ANNOUNCER FOR BITBUCKET section in the sidebar on the left.
   
   
4. On the Announcer Configuration screen, click Add another notification to add new announcement  or click the  icon to edit an existing announcement.
   

5. Paste the Slack channel link in Contents of the Announcement editor. Use the format as shown:
   

   <a href="https://appfireworkspace.slack.com/archives/GQ35STA5T">announcements-jira-discussions</a>

   

6. Click Save to apply the changes.

The announcement is displayed with a hyperlink to the specified Slack channel. As per the given example, the announcement now contains a link to the "announcements-jira-discussions" Slack channel as shown:
