How does Power Admin for Jira detect the app usage?
This document explains how Power Admin identifies the usage and dependencies of apps in a Jira configuration.
App usage in custom fields
If an app has changed any existing or added any new custom fields to a project’s configuration, then those custom fields are shown as a dependency of that app.
App usage in workflows
If a workflow uses conditions, validators, or post-functions added by the app, it is detected as a dependency of that app.
Agile boards, dashboards, and filters
To collect all the data about an app's usage, Power Admin detects all the agile boards, dashboards, and filters that use features or functions contributed by the app.
App to agile boards
An agile board is shown as a dependency if it uses custom JQL functions contributed by the app.
App to dashboards
A dashboard is detected as a dependency if it uses gadgets contributed by the app.
App to filters
A filter is shown as a dependency of the app if it uses JQL functions contributed by the app.
App to service projects
Dependency is detected when a service project uses or references the app. Usage detection happens when the service projects' cached index is generated for the first time or when it’s refreshed.
