Statuses and their usage

Power Admin for Jira allows you to find any status in your configuration and get a full report about its dependent workflows, agile boards, filters, and service projects. Additionally, you can also view all the issues with that status.

Find statuses

  1. On Power Admin's Home page, select Status from the drop-down, type a name or ID, and start your search.

  2. On the Search results page, click the name of a status. You can filter further the statuses by using the Projects filter next to the search field.

  3. Then, the status profile page appears.

Search results

The page with search results shows the following information for each status:

  • Name and ID of the status - you can search for a status by its name or ID.

  • Projects - shows the number of projects where the status is part of their active workflows. When you click on the project count lozenge, you will see a list of all these projects.

  • Issues - shows the number of issues in that status.

Profile page

Using the profile page, you can view all the details about a status and its usage.

How does Power Admin for Jira track a status’ usage?

Power Admin finds all projects where the status is present in their active workflows. The usage information also includes the issues that are in that status.

Power Admin collects all the workflows, agile boards, filters, and service projects that use the selected status by going through their JQL entries.

Usage information

The status usage information is presented in the Summary and Details sections on its profile page.

The Summary section shows:

  • Projects: Number of projects that have the status present in their active workflows. You can click on the number to view a list of the projects.

  • Issues: Number of issues with that status. When you click on the number, you will be redirected to the Issue Navigator listing the issues.

  • Dependent objects: Number of dependent workflows, agile boards, filters, and service projects.

The profile page's Details section shows the workflows, agile boards, filters, and service projects that depend on the status.

The following actions are available for statuses:

  • Rename - click on the name of a status to rename it. Rename is a safe activity, which means that the status name will be updated in all dependent configuration elements referring to it by name. Renaming the status will update all JQL queries within filters and agile boards with the new name.

  • Edit - redirects you to the status edit page in Jira.

  • Export - exports the status usage information into a CSV file.

The locations feature allows you to view detailed information about the status' usage in agile boards, filters, and workflows.
