Hidden/Missing Tabs and Options
When you create a new box of a specific box type (for example, an Agile Project), some tabs and options on the box configuration page of your new box can be unavailable or missing because they depend on the configuration of the box type.
Modules availability
In the box type configuration settings, you can enable or disable certain modules. Consequently, if you disable some modules for a specific box type, they will not be available (grayed out) in the new boxes by default. However, a Box Admin can enable them in the new box.
Unavailable box configuration tabs
Inheritance mode
Some settings tabs on the box configuration page can be missing due to the inheritance mode applied to the box type. If you set the inheritance mode of the box type to Inherited only, the affected settings will not appear in the new box setup.
The table below presents the box configuration tabs affected by the inheritance mode.
Affected (unavailable) box configuration tabs | Comments |
---|---|
Quick filters (Tasks) | The tab with quick filters will not be available in boxes that inherit quick filters from the upper-level boxes. |
Task templates (Tasks) | The tab with task templates will not be available in boxes that inherit the templates from the upper-level boxes. |
Security | The tab with box security roles will not be available in boxes that inherit the assigned security roles from the upper-level boxes.
|
Hierarchy and Timeline column views (Overview) | The tab with column views and column view creators (hierarchy and timeline) will not be available in boxes that inherit those view views from the upper-level boxes.
|
Column views (Gantt) | The tab with column views and column view creator will not be available in boxes that inherit column views from the upper-level boxes. |
Column views (Scope) | The tab with column views and column view creator will not be available in boxes that inherit column views from the upper-level boxes. |
Card views (Board) | The tab with card views and card view creator will not be available in boxes that inherit card views from the upper-level boxes. |
Card views (Risks) | The tab with risk card views and card view creator will not be available in boxes that inherit card views from the upper-level boxes. |
Scope type (Tasks)
When the scope of a box type is set to Sub scope, the scope of the new box will always be a subset of the scope already defined at an upper level of the box hierarchy (the upper-level box must have its scope set to Own).
Scheduling (Tasks)
The box types with their scope definition set to Sub-scope will also cause the new boxes to inherit the scheduling mode from their parent (upper-level boxes).
The scheduling mode option in such a box will be grayed out, and you will not be able to change it.
Workload contouring (Tasks)
The box types with their scope definition set to Sub-scope will also cause the new boxes to inherit the workload contouring mode from their parent (upper-level boxes).
