Boards in Project Snapshots

Configuration Manager for Jira (CMJ) allows you to include Agile boards in snapshots (project or system). You can include boards in snapshots in a similar way to Filters. For project snapshots, you can perform this on the Boards page (third page) of the snapshot creation wizard.

Include All Project Boards

At the Select phase of the snapshot creation wizard, you can choose the Include Project Boards option. It automatically includes all boards with direct references to the projects in the snapshot.

Direct project reference means that the board's saved filter contains the snapshot project(s) in the project operand in the JQL syntax.

Click Next to continue to the Boards page. You will see a list of all agile boards on the system. The agile boards with direct references to the projects in the snapshot are automatically selected. You can remove or add boards to the snapshot.

Include Selected Boards

You can choose to include only selected boards in your project snapshot. To do this:

  1. At the Select phase of the snapshot creation wizard, do not enable the Include Project Boards option.

  2. Click Next to continue to the Boards page.

  3. On the Boards page, select the agile boards you would like to include in the snapshot.

The Select Project Boards button selects and includes all project boards in the snapshot.

Disabled Board Option

If you decide to navigate back from the Boards page to the Select page of the creation wizard, you will notice that the Include Project Boards option is greyed out (disabled). This ensures that CMJ will keep your manually selected boards. Once you select boards manually on the Boards page, you can change your selection only on the Boards and Preview pages.

Preview Snapshot Details

On the Preview page of the creation wizard, you can review the snapshot details and the selected boards. You can also exclude boards from the snapshot.

Boards in System Snapshots

You can also include all boards in System Configuration Snapshots.

On the Select page of the snapshot creation wizard, enable the Include all Boards option to include all boards from the system.
