Column mapping
Introduction
Column mapping allows both platforms to work smoothly and map the fields of your selected monday boards into BigPicture.
Column mapping lets BigPicture know where data can be found in monday board columns, regardless of the column name. You can work with all items and subitems in a single BigPicture box, even if your monday boards don't have an identical column setup.
For boxes based on a single monday board, column mapping can be easily changed:
From the level of an individual box
For boxes based on multiple monday boards, the column mapping is configured on the App configuration > General > Fields page. Read more about the column mapping on the Fields page.
See the video:

Column mapping (App configuration)
If a box is based on more than one monday board, go to the App Configuration > General > Fields page (admin permissions required).
General mapping affects all items unless you add custom mapping for specific boards.
Built-in fields are capable of taking information from various monday boards and external platforms (for example, Trello).
Column mapping rules are defined for each monday board separately.
Column mapping reminders
The app prompts you to check the column mapping:
when you add or remove boards in Scope::
when you make an edit to a built-in field that does not have mapping:

Actions
Current setup info
In the pop-up, you can see the current column mapping of a project.
You are also informed who changed the column mapping recently. No person is displayed if you are the user who made recent changes or if there was no column mapping update before.
At the top, you can see info regarding the current setup. The message lets you know if a custom configuration (custom mapping) exists for a project.
If a project uses the default configuration settings, it means a custom configuration doesn't exist for a project yet. The project is using the default mapping.
Make changes
When you modify the mapping and save changes:
The custom configuration is created, OR
The existing custom configuration is updated.
Restore default settings
You can always remove the custom configuration and return to the default configuration.
Reset to defaults
If you click Reset to defaults, all custom settings will be overwritten with default settings.
Limitations
Box editors and box viewers have read-only access to the column mapping of a box. The column mapping option is greyed out for them.
Mirror columns can’t be used for column mapping.
Restricted columns:
When a user doesn’t have permission to edit, they can still view values from restricted columns mapped to built-in fields (for example, they can see the values from the Status or Start date columns, but they can’t edit them).
When a user doesn’t have permission to view, they can’t see any values from restricted columns mapped to built-in fields.
