Copy matrices in your projects

We’ve added a feature that allows you to copy issue matrices in your projects. Instead of recreating desired matrix configurations manually, you can make copies of them. You can quickly tune the new configurations (copies) to your needs by making slight changes.

You can run the copy action from:

  • the Edit Matrix page, and

  • the Issue Matrices page.

When copying:

  • Restricted and deleted linked projects are removed from the Linked Projects section in the copy. Any issue types related to restricted or deleted linked projects are removed too.

  • The rest of the source matrix' configuration options are preserved in the copy.

  • The copy is inactive until you enable it explicitly.

  • The new matrix is named ‘Copy of {source matrix' name}’.

Copy action in the Issue Matrices page

Open the Issue Matrices list in the project settings and use the copy icon in the actions section.

To copy a matrix from the Issue Matrices page:

  1. Go to Projects Settings > Apps > Issue Matrix Configuration or Apps > Issue Matrix Configuration.

  2. Go to the Issue Matrices page and click the Actions > copy icon for a certain matrix.

The copy is created and saved right away. You’re then redirected to the copy’s Edit Matrix page.

Remember that the created copy is disabled until you activate it with the Enable toggle on its Edit Matrix page or on the Issue Matrices page.

Copy action in the Edit Matrix page

Open the Edit Matrix page of a matrix and use the copy icon in the actions area at the bottom of the page.

To copy a matrix from the Edit Matrix page:

  1. Go to Projects Settings > Apps > Issue Matrix Configuration or Apps > Issue Matrix Configuration.

  2. Go to the Issue Matrices page and click the Actions > edit icon for a matrix.

  3. Navigate to the bottom of the page and click the copy icon.

The copy is created and saved right away. You’re then redirected to the copy’s Edit Matrix page.

Remember that the created copy is disabled until you activate it with the Enable toggle on its Edit Matrix page or on the Issue Matrices page.

Any unsaved changes in the source matrix' Edit Matrix page won’t be copied. Make sure to save changes if you want to have them in the copy.
