Table of contents

In this section, you can manage the Card Views of a given Box. Card Views allow you to create and configure different Risk Card layouts to display task information using the Risks module.

Risk Cards display task attributes in rectangular cards. It is very convenient to move them around and change selected attributes by dragging and dropping or inline editing field values. Any Jira issue type can be displayed as a Risk cards in the Risks module as long as the Risks Probability and Risk Consequence fields are populated.

Using the Template Creator, you can add different fields to the card and change the dimensions of the added field and the card itself.

Security and access

Only a user with a minimum Box admin security role can access and manage the Box configuration.

To edit the Card Views, go to Box configuration > Risks type module (Risks is the default module name used) > Card Views.

This configuration page will not be visible if the Risks type module is deactivated or the inheritance mode is set to "Inherited only."

Adding new Card Views

Click the  "Add new Card View" button to add a new layout and fill in the fields marked with an asterisk. Set the visibility to public, so other users will be able to select the view from the Card View drop-down.

For example: Mark wants to create his personal layout, so he can view the time-tracking progress on each card with available time estimates. He creates a new layout named "Mark's Card View':

Once created, the new view appears on the Card View in the Box configuration list, and users can select the new layout using the Card View drop-down. To modify the layout, click the Card View summary link in the in the Summary column:

Use the Card View creator to design the card, drag and drop the fields form the list of available fields onto the card to add a new field:

Users can now apply the new layout by selecting the layout from the Card View drop-down in the Risks module:

Active Card View

If you apply one of the available Views from the Card View drop-down, it becomes "Active" and a green check mark will show up next to its name. This means that this view will be applied whenever a user opens the module or returns to it.

Inheritance mode

The Card Views can be inherited by the sub-level Boxes when the Inheritance mode is set to "Inherited only" or "Own with inherited" in the Box type configuration. This way, every time you create new views or edit the existing ones, all available view will be updated in the sub-level Boxes as well.

To learn more about the inheritance mode go to Risks Card Views in Box types.
