Absences (Individual Non-Working Days)

Introduction

Absences mark the selected period in the resource’s calendar as non-working days. You can add many absences but dates cannot overlap.

Access

To access the absence cards:

  1. Open BigPicture.

  2. Click on the My settings icon.

  3. Select Absences.

 

Add absences

From the My settings page

To add an absence:

  1. Open BigPicture.

  2. Click My settings on the right side.

  3. Select Absences.

  4. Click Add new.

  5. Complete:

    • Name

    • Start date

    • End date

    • Comment

  6. To submit absences for half a day, enable the Half-day absence on selected days option.

    The capacity for each specified day is decreased by 50%. It applies to each day of the date range.

  7. To add another absence, check the Add another box.

  8. Click Add to confirm.

From the Administration page

To add an absence:

  1. Open BigPicture.

  2. Click the wrench button on the right side.

  3. Select Resources.

  4. Go to Individuals.

  5. Click on a selected resource name.

  6. Navigate to the Absences section.

  7. Click Add new.

  8. Complete:

    • Name

    • Start date

    • End date

    • Comment

  9. To submit absences for half a day, enable the Half-day absence on selected days option.

    The capacity for each specified day is decreased by 50%. It applies to each day of the date range.

  10. To add another absence, check the Add another box.

  11. Click Add to confirm.

From the Resources module

To add an absence:

  1. Open BigPicture > Resources module.

  2. Right-click on the resource name and click Add absence.

  3. Complete:

    • Name

    • Start date

    • End date

    • Comment

  4. To submit absences for half a day, enable the Half-day absence on selected days option.

  5. To add another absence, check the Add another box.

  6. Click Add to confirm.

Edit absences

To edit an absence:

  1. Go to Absences.

  2. Click on the Edit icon next to an absence.

  3. Make changes in the pop-up modal box.

  4. Click Save to confirm.

Delete absences

To delete an absence:

  1. Go to Absences.

  2. Click the Delete icon next to an absence.

  3. Click Delete to confirm.

Non-working days

  • Non-working days resulting from absences impact automatic task scheduling.
