Introduction
The task status refers to the current state or progress of a task. Depending on the task type (for example, monday items, Trello tasks, basic tasks), the task status settings differ.
Statuses for monday items
To reflect the Status column from monday in BigPicture, map the Status field in BigPicture with the Status column in monday. BigPicture supports custom colors of item statuses set in monday.

Empty statuses
BigPicture supports empty statuses (statuses without labels) set for monday items. You can use inline editing to modify a status directly in BigPicture. Once a status is added, you can revert it to empty directly in BigPicture.
Limitation
If you have more than one empty status set for monday items, BigPicture displays all empty statuses without colors (as blank rows).

Status categories are used to visualize the progress of tasks, for example, by aggregating data:

Status category mechanism
If the Status field in BigPicture is mapped with the Status column in monday, BigPicture respects the Status settings in monday. BigPicture recognizes when an item is completed based on the colors you set for completed items.
There are two status categories:
Completed - green color
BigPicture displays the Completed status category based on the Status settings in monday.Not Completed - dark grey color
BigPicture displays the Not Completed status category for all not completed statuses, including the default empty status.

Milestone status settings depend on the task source. If you create a milestone based on a monday item, a milestone status follows the rules for monday item statuses. If a milestone is created based on a basic task, a milestone status follows the rules for basic task statuses. |
Constraints
Deactivated status labels
If you deactivate status labels in monday.com boards, you may still see them in BigPicture for a while. During the data synchronization, BigPicture recognizes deactivated status labels and updates the Status column to reflect the changes accordingly.
