How to clear the plugin cache in Jira and Confluence server instances
This article explains how to clear the plugin cache in Jira and Confluence server instances.
Ensure that:
- The user has the read/write permission to clear the plugin cache.
- The user, who clears the cache, must be the one who logs in once the Jira or Confluence instance starts.
Instructions
Jira
- Shut down the Jira server instance.
Go to the Jira Home Directory > Plugins folder.
Delete the following folders:
<jira-home>/plugins/.osgi-plugins <jira-home>/plugins/.bundled-plugins
These two folders are rebuilt when Jira starts.
- Start the Jira instance.
Confluence
- Shut down the Confluence server instance.
Go to the Confluence Home Directory > Plugins folder.
Delete the following folders:
<confluence-home>/bundled-plugins <confluence-home>/plugins-cache <confluence-home>/plugins-osgi-cache <confluence-home>/plugins-temp <confluence-home>/bundled-plugins_language
These folders are rebuilt when Confluence starts.
osgi-plugins and the bundled-plugins are hidden folders.
Start the Confluence instance.
