How to create a customized support zip file in Confluence

This article explains how to create a customized support zip file in a confluence instance.
As a complete support zip is huge and most of the contents are not needed, the support team requests only Confluence application logs which provide the information required to troubleshoot the actual issue.

Instructions to create customized support zip:

  1. Navigate to Cog Wheel > General Configuration > Troubleshooting and support tools.

  2. Select the Create support zip tab and click on customize zip.

  3. Enable only the “confluence application logs” option from the “customize zip” popup window. This will include all the logs which are in the Confluence home directory.

  4. Click on “Save” and then click on Create zip option.

  5. Once the support zip is generatedclick Download zip.



  • You have to be an Administrator to generate the support zip file.

  • If your application is clustered, all available cluster nodes will be listed. You can create a zip on a single node, or on multiple nodes.

  • Support team requests explicitly if the other files are required along with application log files.
