The SIL Help Panel in the SIL Manager is the quickest way to look up SIL syntax information or information about specific routines.

To use the SIL Help Panel:

  1. Open the SIL Help tab by click the tab on the right side of the SIL Manager

  2. Enter a search topic in the search bar. Some example key words might be:

    1. operator to see syntax examples for mathematical operators

    2. syntax to see examples of SIL language syntax

    3. array to see a list of routines for arrays

  3. Click on one of the results returned by the search

  4. In the provided content you will find helpful information such as:

    1. Descriptions

    2. Syntax examples

    3. Routine return types

    4. Examples

  5. To see more about a topic, click the link to the online documentation at the top of the topics help content.

While extremely helpful, its important to note that there is limit space available inside the documentation panel in the SIL Manager. For that reason the online documentation will typically contain additional examples and more detailed explanation. A link to the online documentation is provided in the help.
