In summary:

Apps are licensed with Atlassian Marketplace License Terms
Server app licenses are perpetual. You are entitled to support and maintenance updates as long as you are current on maintenance.
- App versions with a release date before your license's maintenance period will continue to work.
- App versions with a release date after your license's maintenance period will fail with an expired license error.
Cloud and Data Center app licenses are subscription. You are entitled to use the software while you have an active subscription.
