Projects

The Projects tab allows the configuration of project mapping between Toggl Track and Jira. This screen is available to all Jira users; however, certain actions require Jira administrator privileges:

  • Enabling/disabling global project mapping.

  • Editing project mappings when global project mapping is enabled.

  1. Enable global project mapping – This option, when activated, allows administrators to define a universal mapping between Jira projects and Toggl Track projects for all users within the Jira instance.

When global project mapping is disabled, users can set project mappings for themselves only. However, once the admin enables the toggle, mappings are applied universally for all users.

  1. Search bar – Simplify finding specific projects by using the search bar to filter the list based on project names.

  2. Project list – This section displays a list of all your Jira projects. For each project, you'll see:

    • Jira project key – This is a unique identifier for the project within your Jira instance.

    • Toggl Track website project – This column shows the corresponding project from your Toggl Track account, if a mapping has already been established. You can manually assign which Jira project should be linked to which Toggl Track project using the dropdown menus. This ensures your time entries flow into the corresponding projects within Jira.

  3. Reset mapping – Click to reset all project mapping selections.
