Our team is thrilled to announce the latest release of BigPicture!



New

New Resources module

To access grouping, click the Try out new features (beta) button at the top. You can switch between the views at any time.

Skills and Projects swimlanes added

In the new version of the Resources module, you can display swimlanes based on Skills and Projects.

The new view lets you organize data into the following swimlanes:

  • Individuals

  • Teams

  • Projects new

  • Skills new

Swimlnane two-level grouping is available in the new resources module

The new grouping mechanism allows for a two-level grouping of tasks and provides better insight into your portfolio. Now, you can easily track things like capacity and workload across projects and teams.

When you switch to a new view of the Resources module, new coloring is introduced to help you better track the over and under-allocation of the resources.

Usability improvements - new Resources module

  • Snipe to a search result task

  • Task dates visible during resizing

  • Tooltips added for clarity

  • Grid cells show units (hours, man-days, percentage, story points)

  • Jump to the nearest task in a swimlane

  • Custom task colors are available

 

Scheduling mode

“Auto-basic” scheduling mode introduced

Tasks in the “auto-basic” mode respond to:

  • days off

  • dependencies

  • react to the influence of its parent (top-down)

  • move with its parent (when the parent is moved)

Auto basic will not: (as opposed to “Auto bottom-up” mode)

  • move tasks beneath it (its children)

  • extend itself to its children's dates


Enhancements

Portfolio

Gantt and Scope modules are available in portfolio boxes

Find the perfect match

The number of listed proposed matches has been expanded to include results

In the pop-up, you can see:

  • All the relevant users who match more than 0% (sorted from the best match to the worst). The list can be scrolled

  • % of their matching according to the algorithm

  • All the skills they currently have

  • Available capacity

The algorithm itself didn’t change.

Dependencies

ASAP mode is disabled by default

When creating a dependency, the non-ASAP mode is the default.

A Jira admin can change settings.
