Updates to the Text in Widget UI

During the Chat Widget redesign, we made slight changes to the text in the widget's user interface. We also enhanced the logic and improved certain app flows, such as the login and registration process, which required the addition of new text or the replacement of existing text to ensure a smooth user experience.

These changes may impact the translated and customized messages displayed in your Widget.

This applies to you if:

  1. You were using the old widget code snippet on your websites before embedding the new one.

  2. You have the Chat Widget enabled on your Jira Customer Portal.

Action Required:

To ensure that you continue to provide the best possible customer support experience, it is recommended to review the new text strings and make any necessary updates.

By navigating to the Jira Settings > Apps > Translate and Customize configuration page, you will see all new text snippets marked with a “NEW" label:

Note: Please be aware that the old text will remain visible on the Translate and Customize page, as some customers may still be using the old code snippet for external websites. However, this text will not be displayed when using the new widget code snippet and for the Widget on Jira Customer Portal after the updated version is released.
