Add Chat Widget on Jira Customer Portal

On this page, you'll learn how to add Chat Widget on a Jira Customer Portal.

Prerequisites

  • To ensure users can access the chat functionality within the Jira Customer Portal, make sure the Channel access setting in your JSM project settings is set to Open. With Restricted channel access, only users manually added as customers by the project administrator can initiate chats. For more information, refer to the Jira documentation.

How to Add Chat Widget to Jira Customer Portal

  1. Open the project you want to add the Chat Widget to, and from its sidebar, click Project Settings > Chat for JSM. Alternatively, open Settings from the Chat for JSM tab.

  2. Open Chat Widget.

  3. Click the Install button next to Jira Customer Portal.

Tada! The Chat Button and Chat Widget will now automatically appear on your Jira Customer Portal.
