Publishing using a Comala workflow

Overview

Publishing of a page can be automated using Comala Publishing with an applied Comala Document Management workflow.

A page in the source space can be published automatically using the applied workflow in the following ways:

Pages can still be published using single-page and whole-space publishing when publishing is configured to use a Comala workflow in the source space.

Publish on a transition to the workflow final state

A page is automatically published on the transition to the final state in the applied workflow. The transition to the workflow’s final state is usually configured to occur upon approval of the finalized page.

See: Publish a page on transition to Comala workflow final state.

Space publishing of all the pages in the workflow final state

When publishing all the pages in the space using the Space publish option, the published source pages are in the workflow’s final state.

The space publishing settings are configured to publish only pages in the applied workflow final state. Pages not in the final state of the workflow are not published.

You can also publish all the pages in the workflow final state using the publishing report Publish option when the Workflow in final state + Not Synced report filter is applied.

See: Space publish all the pages in the workflow final state.

Publish on a workflow trigger event

The page is automatically published on a workflow event, for example, the change of workflow state.

See: Use a Comala workflow trigger to publish a page.

Comala Document Management family of apps

A workflow from one of the Comala Document Management family of apps can be applied to pages and blog posts; Comala Publishing only publishes page content. The Comala Publishing app ignores blog posts with a Comala workflow applied.
