Parent Issue JQL Validator

This validator confirms whether the parent issue matches the specified JQL.

Steps

  1. Open the workflow where you want to add the condition and locate the transition you want.

  2. Switch to the Validators tab.

  3. Click the Add validator button

  4. Select JEP - Parent Issue JQL validator and click the Add button.

  5. Type the JQL that the parent issue should match to proceed with the transition.

  6. Enter the message that should be displayed if the JQL does not match.

  7. Click the Add button.

  8. Publish the workflow.

The validator will now be added to the transition.

If the parent issue does not match the JQL defined above, the transition will not proceed. Instead, an error message will be displayed, similar to the example below.
