Create a project budget table and customize it at various stages of the project

Scenario

Customize the information defined in the MultiExcerpt macro:
Create a project budget table template with MultiExcerpt and variables, and then use MultiExcerpt Include to modify and include the budget for different phases.

Steps

The following steps demonstrate how to create a project budget template using MultiExcerpt and variable feature:

 

Step 1

As a Confluence Administrator or MultiExcerpt user:

  1. Create a template page.
    Info Create a separate page to list all the templates, or create a template in the existing project page and hide it. In this example, a new template page is created.

  2. Type ‘/' and search for Multiexcerpt macro or use the '+’ option in the editor main toolbar and search for Multiexcerpt macro.

  3. Select the Multiexcerpt macro.

  4. Specify a name for the Multiexcerpt macro.

  5. Add the content into the macro body.

  6. Specify variables in the format: {{variables}}.

  7. Click Publish.


Step 2

Include the Multiexcerpt macros in the project page or create a page if one does not already exist. In this example, the project page exists.

  1. Navigate to the project budget page and go the section where you want to add the budget table.

  2. Type ‘/' and search for Multiexcerpt Include macro or use the '+’ option in the editor main toolbar and search for Multiexcerpt Include macro.

  3. Select the Multiexcerpt Include macro.

  4. Select the template Page.

  5. Select the Multiexcerpt that was created on the template page.

  6. Go to the Variables tab. The defined variables are listed in the variable column.

  7. Enter the value for each variable that you want to replace.

  8. Click Insert.


 

Step 3

Follow step two. Replace the variables with the different values while representing different stages of project.
