Or if you haven't downloaded it yet but are curious to check out what it entails - welcome to you as well!
First things first, when you install the app you will notice that nothing will appear in your Jira toolbar at the top. Or, if you're a user of an older version of the plugin you will still see the SD SURVEY section in your toolbar.
Our survey app is designed to be visible to Administrators only and will only be enabled for projects that have been selected under the Manage apps section in the Administration. So, ensure that your user has Admin permissions.
Following glossary can be helpful whenever you are using Surveys for Jira:
Basic Survey
Basic Survey — simple default survey utilising cPrime's default template with a 5-star rating system.
It only requires the following fields from users:
- Name of survey
- Header content
- Footer content
- Trigger point
- Thank you message
Custom Survey
Custom Survey — Survey that replaces the default survey content (boxed in yellow) with a custom external survey that is created in our WYSIWYG editor.
Placeholder fields
Placeholder Fields — Allow users to input placeholders within the body of the survey content, which will auto-populate based on the specific issue that triggered the survey.
For example, if a user inputs the 'reporter' placeholder in the header content, the recipient will see their own name / username).
Weblink
Weblink — Placeholder field available for the custom survey and inserts a URL that will redirect the recipient to the custom created external survey.
