Utilizing JIRA Project Templates (As of JIRA 6.1 - JIRA Blueprints).

You can now select a JIRA project template that the template will use to customize the project further. In addition to this - you can also select a Local template to be used in a similar fashion - this will then allow for nested templates.

Enabling JIRA Project Templates

In order to use JIRA Project Templates - you have to enable the JIRA Project templates to be made available to you. This is so that you can verify that the combination of Project Creator for JIRA local templates will work properly in your environment with any other JIRA Project Templates.

We're currently supporting JIRA 6.0 Project Templates and are working on adding in support for JIRA 6.1's JIRA Blueprints prior to shipping Project Creator for JIRA 1.2.

Guidance note

With Project Creator for JIRA 1.2, a template can now have a note that will be shown to the people creating new projects. This allows you to provide guidance on when a particular template should ideally be used.

The project creation is now available everywhere in JIRA.

Once a user selects the project creation navigation option, they will be be shown an overlay with the template options and guidance notes available to them.
