How do I migrate the page activity for each page?

Currently, the page activity† for each page is not migrated to cloud.

How can I see the legacy workflow history (from before the migration to cloud) for each page in my cloud site?

However, before migration, you can run the Attach Activity utility in a space to add the existing workflow events and actions as a CSV file attachment to each page with workflow activity so a record of the workflow events and actions on a page in server from before the cloud migration is available after migration.

† In cloud, page activity is accessed using the Document Activity option in the page tools menu.

Solution

From Comala Document Management 6.18.0 or later, the Attach Activity utility in a space supports the creation of a record of workflow activity for a document as a CSV file. The file is created and automatically attached for each page in a space in your server instance.

The workflow history CSV file is then migrated as an attachment for each page with workflow activity. The Attach Activity option needs to be run for each space prior to migrating to cloud.

Prior to Comala Document Management v6.18.0, downloading the page activity as a CSV file for each page in server before migration was a manual task done on a page-by-page basis and although it could be a scripted operation, in most cases the scripting was not simple.

If your organizational requirements include a Compliance/Regulatory audit, you may consider also keeping your legacy Confluence server instance (in read-only mode).

These legacy workflow events and actions in the CSV file attachment are not displayed in the page document activity report for a cloud page. Only the page state at the time of migration is displayed and any further workflow events and actions undertaken in cloud.
