App Integrations
Who can use this information
The information on this page is intended for:
App vendors who want to allow their customers to move app configuration and data from Jira Server/DC to Cloud.
Jira customers who develop server/dc and cloud apps for internal usage. Customers who want to move the app configuration and data from a Jira Server/DC instance to a Cloud site.
Developers who want to integrate apps with our platform for app data and configuration migration from Jira Server/DC to Cloud.
If you are a Jira admin, you can check our List of all integrated apps to learn which apps on your Jira instance are already integrated with our platform.
Integrate your apps with Cloud Migration Tool for configuration and data migrations
App Integrations is a platform that helps app vendors and developers integrate:
Server/DC apps with Configuration Manager Cloud Migration Tool and
Cloud apps with Configuration Manager for Jira (CMJ) Cloud.
The Cloud Migration Tool and Configuration Manager for Jira (CMJ) Cloud are companion apps allowing Jira admins to migrate:
Jira configurations, like projects, custom fields, workflows, etc., and
Jira issues
from Jira Server/Data Center to Cloud.
What about apps installed on the Jira Server/DC instance? We've developed an extension to the Cloud Migration Tool and CMJ Cloud apps. It allows Jira admins to migrate custom app configurations and data, along with Jira projects and issues, from the server to the cloud.
This extension is called the Service Provider Interface (SPI).
How to integrate your app
The SPI has easy-to-use endpoints to accomplish integration. You need to integrate your server app with the Cloud Migration Tool and cloud app with the Configuration Manager for Jira (CMJ) Cloud using the SPI. Vendors’ development teams must:
connect their Jira Server/Data Center app to these endpoints to integrate with Cloud Migration Tool, and
connect the Jira Cloud app corresponding to the server app to the endpoints to integrate with CMJ Cloud.
This integration type is called server-to-cloud app data migration. Its available endpoints for migrating app configuration and data from server to cloud are described below.
Integration endpoints
Workflow
Allows automatically migrating:
custom conditions,
validators, and
post-functions,
provided by the app, with Cloud Migration Tool from Jira Server/DC to Cloud.
Coming soon! More integration points will be gradually added to the platform. For the complete integration process, visit the App Integrations documentation space.
Integration plan for app vendors/developers
Are you a Jira Server/Data Center and Cloud app vendor or developer? Here is a quick overview of the steps to integrate your Server/Data Center and cloud apps with the Cloud Migration Tool and CMJ Cloud.
Initial setup of the App Integrations platform and implementation of its endpoints. Follow the developer guides that will lead your team through the integration process.
Test the integration with a server-to-cloud migration of your app’s global configuration and data. Learn more about the migration process and its steps.
Contact our team to add your app to our List of all integrated apps. The List of Integrated Apps gives CMJ users more visibility about the apps' configuration and data they can migrate.
Find out more about the integration plan in the Integration types document.
The App Integrations documentation space
This space contains articles and developer guides on integrating Jira Server/Data Center and Cloud apps with CMJ.
Documentation for app vendors
In the Vendor Integration Corner, app vendors will find:
detailed information about the benefits of integrating with the Cloud Migration Tool and CMJ Cloud, and,
answers to frequently asked questions about the integration process.
Documentation for developers
Developers will find helpful information and guides for integrating with the SPI.
Already integrated apps
You can find all the apps integrated with CMJ in our List of all integrated apps document.
If you are an app vendor, Jira customer, or developer who just integrated or you don’t see your app there, contact us, and we will add you.
