Approval workflow states

Overview

There are 3 approval states in the Comala Document Approval app workflow

  • Review

  • Rejected

  • Approved

There are two draft approval states - Review and Rejected and one Approved state for page or blog posts that have been reviewed and approved.

The approval byline item on the page or blog post changes according to the current approval state of the applied approval workflow.

The Review state is the initial state in the approval workflow.

Content in the Rejected state has undergone an approval process and been rejected.

Content in the Approved state has been subject to an approval process and has been approved.

 

A page or blog post with an applied approval workflow can only be in one state at any one time.

Latest approved version

but if the content has previously been in the Approved state, the most recent Approved version of the content can still be viewed

  • a link is added next to the content byline item in the draft approval state

When in a draft state (Review or Rejected  state) if the content had been previously approved, the content byline item includes a link to the currently approved content.

Users with View and Edit or Admin permissions see a breadcrumb link to any content that is pending approval when viewing the approved content.
